Namaste, I am here, I would have blogged sooner, but my connection was little slow in the Delhi Apt. It smells like India, and is warm. Things have not changed here too much. I spent time at my families house last night and in my new upstairs house that has been being built for me since last April. This house has been in their family for 4 generations..WOW, that is shocking to me, it is so different than what we have in the US. Everyone is expecting Eli in October, once his Dad gives the okay…
I am working on the manual, as well as information for our Purab Paschim’s Indian Culture and Philososphy certificate. I have asked Parmerth Niketan to allow only Inland College of Yoga to offer 200hr. training programs. This means, all of you in Riverside in Teacher training also have some connection to Parmerth Niketan. If they accept, (I think they will) a lot of the work I have been doing will pay off.
You may also know I will be teaching in Kanpur, India at a managemnt institute, on the subject of starting your own venture, and using Inland Yoga Centers as an area of study. There seems to be some support, since yoga has come from India and how we are crazy for it here in the U.S.
My room in my house in Agra is on the third floor and overlooks the city-in the morning when I meditate and practice all I can hear are the sounds of the mosques and the temples chanting their early morning chants. To me, this is so much a part of my involvment and dedication to Inland Yoga, having a real connection with India. A connection that will allow people to come here and see the foundation of the practice we all love so much in the U.S. Just last year I was strongly discouraged not to come here and , and in 2002 also I wanted so much to visit India at the time I was told no, it wasn’t a good time. I promised myself then, that if I ever made it here I would do whatever I could to give people the chance to come here if they wanted to. It changes your life. I am grateful to Inland Yoga Centers, my Father, my Mother, Brother John and Yogi Bhajan for opening up this amazing door to me, and to all of you (eventually). Now my husband is cleaning the temple (seva).
I know it is difficult when I am away, but we are flexible people, and we can adjust. Trust me there is a purpose for this, and we will discover it together. Try not to be discouraged, as Yogi Bhajan says, “patience pays” and it sure does.
Namaste..later I will upload some pictures of my house!
